Breaking Dawn (Audio)

Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is just as awesome to listen to as it is to read. I just can't get enough of this vampire tale. Most everyone has read this book already so I really don't think my review is necessary...but even so I will say this:I felt Bella finally grew up as a character in this book. I loved her determination and her willpower, not everyone could go through all that she has and still remain sane...even though that is questionable. This book is really the only one where I like Jacob. I was sooooo very annoyed having his POV when I first read it since I wanted to know what was going on with Bella. However, having read it already and this being the second time with the story...knowing it was coming up and what happens made me appreciate Jacob's POV waaaaay more than the first time. All in all, an unique and enjoyable story. I really didn't know how she was going to conclude it. And although she ended it, I still feel that one day she could go back to the characters and not ruin the first stories.

The Man who Loved Pride and Prejudice

The Man Who Loved Pride and Prejudice: A modern love story with a Jane Austen twistThe Man Who Loved Pride and Prejudice: A modern love story with a Jane Austen twist by Abigail Reynolds

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I was really excited to read this book and was very happy up until the middle. I felt the author was on the right track, but once the characters found their place, it actually got boring. The characters seemed to easily figure out their relationship to easily after their rocky start.

I see the similarities to Pride and Prejudice, and most of them are not subtle since it obviously is the modern telling of the story. I'm glad I read it and would possibly read one of her other stories, but we'll see.

The Choice

The ChoiceThe Choice by Nicholas Sparks

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Well, thanks to my sister I read this book, because otherwise I'd never have touched it since it's written by Nicholas Sparks and anyone who knows me knows that his stories take me beyond the point of emotional.

That being said, this book definitely opens your eyes about how short life is. However, in my life lately this reminder has been continually thrown in my face so I've not been a stranger to it.

I felt the book really didn't pick up til Part II. The whole Part I was dedicated to the two characters life as they met, fell in love, and made their choices in life from Both POV's. I really didn't start caring for Gabby until Part II.The POV's seemed to changed right in the middle of the chapter's paragraphs. Part II is where you only get one POV and I really started to feel for the characters. True to Sparks nature, he brings your emotions right there for all to see.

All in all, I'm glad I read it. Definitely showed me that Sparks can write somewhat of a good ending. Wouldn't say I'd read another of his but for now I'm content.

Pirate Latitudes Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wow, leave it to Michael Crichton to write another awesome tale!(so going to miss that author!!) I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Was sad by the ending but sort of glad that it was more realistic. The crew's adventures were very suspenseful and exhilarating! I highly recommend this book!

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I didn't even remember much about Bree til I read this book, then the light bulb flashed and I remembered her part. (Also helped that I re/read/listened to Eclipse. I loved getting the POV from a newborn and the extra stuff I didn't realize was going on during Eclipse. Gave me a better appreciation for Edwards powers, even more appreciation than I already. I'm glad it gave Bree's existence meaning.
