The Heir by Johanna Lindsey

The Heir The Heir by Johanna Lindsey

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Well, listening to this story was a true joy! I loved that the story had so much of "miss communication" that just shows that honesty is the best way to help things NOT become a big drama.

I'd say my only problem is I didn't see much much of a character arc for the main characters. Their personalities and action were basically the same throughout the story, with exception of finding their love for each other. Ophelia is the one that had a drastic character arc and I am anxious to listen to her story next in The Devil Who Tamed Her. However, disliking her character so much in this story will be a true test for Johanna's storytelling abilities.

Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts

Bed of Roses (Bride Quartet, #2) Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I didn't actually read this book but listened too it, and I think for this storyline and this author, listening is the way to go! The person who performed the story did a great job and made me feel more for the characters than the first book, Vision in White, that I read.

Emma is a great character, I think her arc was addressed more to than Mac's in the last book. To me, Mac's book was all about her and the relationship with her mother. I liked that with Bed of Roses more is focused on the character herself and the hero with his shortcomings.

This one give me more hope for the next than the last book. Although it is predictable who each girl will end up with, and I'd rather it be more ambiguous.

PS. I hope they make this series into movies, I'd love to see it on Lifetime. :)

Deep Kiss of Winter

Deep Kiss of Winter (Includes: Immortals After Dark, #8; Alien Huntress, #5) Deep Kiss of Winter by Kresley Cole

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What more can you ask for with TWO stories in one book? Well, make that one by Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole!!! It's the best of both worlds I tell ya!

Untouchable
I couldn't have been any happier with this book unless she had made it a full book rather than a short story. I adored Daniella. And Murdoch, for what he had to go through. I was really happy with how things ended up and would love to see more of these characters later on.

Tempt Me Eternally
Wow, Gena really knows how to knock one outta the park! I can't get enough of her stories!! Aleaha was amazing and I would love to see this as a movie! She would be so cool. And the Rakan!? Come on Gena, get your characters some screen time! I'm anxious to read another AIR book so I can actually "see" these characters again.

My biggest problem with these short stories is that I get so used to the authors writing full stories that the "falling in love" and the action in these books feels so rushed! But I'm content. I am glad that they do this so everyone in the series you care about get's their own tale.

Regardless, both stories were AWESOME and I can't wait to read the next!!!
